Friend,

I began my career in 1978 knocking doors to gather support for the Equal Rights Amendment. Four years later, I watched it stall out just three states shy of a majority.

Yesterday, Virginia, the final state needed for a majority, passed the ERA.

When I heard the news, I felt my life’s work come full circle. From knocking doors to becoming Director of the Maine Women’s Lobby and the Maine Commission for Women, I’ve spent my career advocating for equal rights.

Now I’m ready to take that fight to the U.S. Senate. But I need your help... Can you contribute $10? Any amount helps us fund our people-powered movement. [[link removed]]

Currently, the only right that the Constitution affirms equally for women and men is the right to vote – and it passed one hundred years ago.

One hundred years later, American women have made countless strides. Still, by the law of the land, we are not recognized as equal.

Everything we fought for in the 20th century is now at risk. Mitch McConnell is pushing through dozens of anti-choice judges in courts around the country and Senator Susan Collins has voted to appoint 32 of those anti-choice judges.

Can you contribute $10 today? We need a senator in Maine who will stand up for the rights of women – not undermine them to tow the party line. [[link removed]]

Now, with a majority of states voting to pass the ERA, we have a real chance to make history.

If we ratify the ERA, it would provide a strong legal defense against a rollback of the significant advances in women's rights that have been achieved.

Constitutional grounds could be the avenue to prevent these anti-choice judges in their lifetime appointments from hacking away at the rights of women everywhere.

It’s time to gear up for another fight. I’ve been fighting for women throughout my 37-year career. I’m ready to fight to ensure all Mainers are on equal footing as your next U.S. senator.

In Solidarity,
