The GOP is trying to claw back money that the Inflation Reduction Act
currently allocates to improve the IRS. Since the GOP began regularly
defunding the IRS in 2010, audits of corporations have fallen by over
50%.^1

In 2021, corporate pricing of gas and everyday goods accounted for more
than 50% of inflation^2 — all while huge corporate monopolies reported
their highest profit margins in 70 years.

Our system is not working for working people.

Alexandria has been very clear: multi-billion dollar corporations need to
pay their fair share in taxes. And she can call out big pharma, tech, and
fossil fuel executives for scamming the public because she doesn’t take a

This year, the IRS has already used funds from the Inflation Reduction
Act, which grants $80 billion over the next 10 years, to begin modernizing
its technology and increase customer service personnel. Audits will not
increase for taxpayers making under $400,000, but the agency is hoping to
go after the estimated $163 billion per year that the top 1% avoids
paying.^3

Rather than taxing corporations or the ultra wealthy, extremist House
Republicans are now pushing a proposal to impose a 30% national sales tax
— eliminating corporate taxes and the IRS altogether.

[ [link removed] ]This is not economic justice. But we can fight back by keeping leaders
like Alexandria in Congress who will lead the charge against corporations,
and help her bring other progressive leaders into the fight. Can you
