Disturbing news, John:

 

Republicans have stacked important House committees with some of the most hardline extremists in Congress. Kevin McCarthy sold his soul in order to become Speaker, and he gave some of the most powerful positions in Congress to conspiracy theorists, election deniers, and con artists.

 

Republicans are already outraising us, and the cycle has BARELY started! Will you help us push back by making a contribution now?

 

Marjorie Taylor Greene, Paul Gosar, Scott Perry, and Lauren Boebert have all been appointed to the House Oversight Committee, where they’ll use their new positions to promote conspiracy theories and attack the administration with baseless investigations. You may recall that both Greene and Gosar were removed from their committees last Congress for advocating violence against Democrats.

 

Even George Santos — despite lying about everything — is being placed on the Committees for Small Business and for Science, Space, and Technology.

 

And there’s worse news. Even though they’ve only had the majority for a few weeks, the GOP is already hitting up their mega-donors to try to expand their numbers in 2024. We shudder to think what they’d do with an even larger majority.
