John,

EMILY’s List just endorsed Mayor Lightfoot’s reelection campaign, citing her track record of strong leadership to protect abortion rights and expand paid parental leave in Chicago.

As we head into the final weeks of this campaign, we need to capitalize on this boost of momentum. If you’re able, rush a contribution by clicking here.

As the most influential political organization working to advance the rights of women in the country, EMILY’s List was founded to recruit, train, and support pro-choice Democratic women running for office at every level of politics.

Here’s why Lori earned their endorsement:

Immediately after the leak indicated that SCOTUS would overturn Roe vs. Wade, Mayor Lightfoot introduced the “Justice for All Pledge” declaring that Chicago would be an oasis for abortion in the face of unprecedented attacks on our fundamental freedoms.

She recently committed $3 million - on top of an already-allocated $500,000 -- to bolster reproductive healthcare infrastructure to support the influx of patients traveling from states that have banned abortion and other reproductive healthcare services.

Last September, Mayor Lightfoot announced a full twelve weeks of paid parental leave for all City employees -- an initiative that will improve the quality of life for 32,000 employees. And she’s encouraging the city’s sister agencies to implement the same policy.

It’s no wonder EMILY’s List endorsed her! We’re grateful for the recognition of the work Lori has done to stand up for women in Chicago and across the country.

EMILY’s List adds their name to a growing coalition of women leaders and women’s organizations supporting Mayor Lightfoot, including U.S. Sen. Tammy Duckworth, Congresswoman Robin Kelly, Ald. Michelle Harris, Ald. Emma Mitts, Metropolitan Water Reclamation District Commissioner Barbara McGowan, State Sen. Sara Feigenholtz, and State Rep. Kelly Cassidy.

If you’re able, keep the momentum going by rushing a contribution here.

Thank you!

Team Lightfoot
