Here at JD, we believe that our elections and campaigns should be powered
by the people, not dark money groups and special interests. We’re a
grassroots movement funded by supporters like you — because we refuse to
be beholden to corporations.

We will never accept a single cent of corporate PAC money. But we’re still
the exception. We can never have a real democracy as long as corporations
and dark money groups can influence the outcome of elections.

Nine out of ten times, the candidate with more money in a race wins — and
if that’s corporate PAC money, it comes with strings attached. That’s why
our Justice Democrats ran and won without any corporate PAC money, proving
it can be done.

Legislation needs to put our people first, not profit — and that can’t
happen when our elected representatives are being influenced by
corporations and industries.

Allowing corporate groups to continue bankrolling elections just creates
major ethical issues when their chosen candidates actually start
legislating. Justice Democrat Summer Lee is speaking out against the clear
conflict of interest and we’re with her.

That’s exactly why JD exists: to show that we can run people-powered
campaigns and win. AOC, Cori Bush, Jamaal Bowman, Summer Lee — we’ve
proved over and over again that we don’t need to sacrifice principles to
send progressive champions to Congress.

But we need to make change on a bigger scale, and if we want to change the
way elections are funded, we need to keep expanding our progressive bloc
