I have very exciting news to share! I am now the national President of Voices for Progress (V4P)! Voices for Progress galvanizes the advocacy of business leaders, entrepreneurs, philanthropists, and other prominent individuals who unite to protect our climate, strengthen our democracy, and ensure economic and social justice for all. 

V4P members truly inspire me because they not only espouse progressive values, but they live them. They advocate alongside marginalized communities, even when it negatively impacts their own narrow financial interest. They push for higher taxes on themselves and for campaign finance reform to lessen their own influence in government.

As many of you know, following the conclusion of my campaign, I actually founded the California State program of V4P to continue fighting for the same values and policies I had supported as a candidate. I’ve been with V4P in various capacities ever since. I’m so proud of the work we’ve done to ensure net neutrality, expand affordable childcare, fight climate change with clean energy investment in low-income neighborhoods, and more. Last cycle, V4P assessed over 85 congressional candidates, and endorsed a CA state slate that was 92% women, people of color, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community with a nearly 70% win rate. 

As I step into this new role, I’m focused on how we at V4P can best contribute to winning the 2020 election. I also plan to further strengthen and prioritize the ways V4P looks to marginalized communities, amplifying the concerns of those most impacted by climate change, social and economic injustice, and a weakening democracy. 

I’m still going to be living in Los Angeles and continuing my non-V4P personal advocacy and political efforts here. I’ll just be traveling to D.C. and around the country more during the work week.
