Inauguration

Tuesday was the official 2023 Texas Inauguration. I want to thank the four million plus people who voted to re-elect me into office. I am honored to be your Lt. Governor, and I will be relentless in protecting the freedom of Texas so this continues to be the best place in the world to live, work, and raise a family.

In my speech, I laid out a few of my top priorities for this upcoming session. A few of those include: providing lasting property tax relief, including increasing the homestead exemption to $70,000, expanding parental rights including school choice, increasing rural law enforcement pay, expanding our mental healthcare hospital system, continuing to protect our border because the Biden Administration will not, and strengthening our grid by adding more megawatts of power. In case you missed it, here’s my full speech.

A Conservative Budget that doesn’t Spend all of Texas’s Money but Addresses the Needs of Texas

Official Statement

Yesterday, Senator Joan Huffman, Chair of the Senate Committee on Finance, filed Senate Bill 1, the Texas Senate Budget Bill. This bill showcases my dedication to the priorities I spoke of in my inaugural speech.

I am proud of the hard work Finance Chair Huffman and my budget team put into this bill that reflects Texas's conservative priorities. You can read my official statement here.

I joined one of the performers, the Randy Rogers Band, for their opening song. It was great fun! You can watch the video here.

Thank you all for your support and everything you do to make Texas the greatest place on earth. May God bless you and your family, and may He continue to bless the greatest state of all—Texas.

Sincerely,

Dan Patrick
