With Democrats fighting to hang onto our razor-thin Senate majority, Nate Silver’s FiveThirtyEight says that the GOP has a clear path to retake control. They only need to flip two seats — and after Republicans won more races in New York last November than they have in two decades, they’re targeting my seat as a key pickup opportunity.

That’s why this is such a big problem: My team just updated me that we’re way behind our $15,000 fundraising goal. If we don’t close the gap before our midnight deadline, we could get outpaced by the GOP megadonor machine right at the beginning of this tough reelection fight.
