Welcoming a New THC Historic Site

We are excited to announce the Texas Historical Commission?s newest state historic site: Presidio La Bah?a [ [link removed] ]!

This site in Goliad is a Spanish Colonial-era fort, established at this location in 1749. The original 18th-century chapel, largely intact today, remains an active church; other portions of the fort were restored in the 1960s. The presidio was the site of the Goliad Massacre in March 1836, one of the bloodiest chapters in Texas? revolution for independence from Mexico.
