Hi John, In “The Normal Times,” we’d be spending the week celebrating the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, but these aren’t “The Normal Times” are they? Instead, we took some time to mourn the widespread loss of abortion access, let that sorrow simmer until it was pure, concentrated, white hot feminist rage. And NOW, we’re cooking up all sorts of trouble and ideas to bring back the abortion access we deserve! Just check out our @abortionfront social media channels on Friday to see our first action of 2023… Of course, the Asshole Powers That Be are working overtime. Last week, the Alabama AG has stated his intent to prosecute pregnant folks who self-manage their abortions DESPITE THEIR OWN GARBAGE ABORTION BAN NOT EVEN CRIMINALIZING PATIENTS. While Alabama explores the depths of its cruelty, we’re thankful for friends like West Alabama Women’s Center, who “is and will always be a safe place for pregnant people who need medical care. If saving lives is a ‘criminal conspiracy’ then it is one we will commit- over and over again.” “So go fuck yourself, AG Steve Marshall” - AAF’s official statement. | |
It ain’t just Alabama, either- North Carolina elected officials are currently plotting all of the ways they can screw over their pregnant citizens and make life just that much harder for, well, everyone in North Carolina. We are OVER these gynoticians deciding our healthcare for us- we’ll eat our shoe if any of them can correctly label a vulva diagram. We’ll wait. We can’t help but be hopeful, though, when we see all of the people standing up for abortion access and fighting back wherever they can!
