Get Tickets Now INTERVIEW | Waukesha schools' gender guidelines decision sparks larger debate WILL Deputy Counsel, Luke Berg, was on FOX6 last week, discussing the School District of Waukesha's new guidelines for parental rights. The guidelines state that "district staff needs written parental permission to call students by pronouns opposite of their biological sex." Berg said that “gender transition is a major decision in a child’s life, and the kind of thing a parent has to be involved in." Watch / Read Here UPDATE | Gov. Evers Issues Executive Order Banning TikTok on State Government Devices Last week, Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers issued an executive order to ban the social media app, TikTok, on state devices. WILL applauded the state executive branch for recognizing national dangers posed by TikTok– as found in last month's policy report by Senior Research Analyst, Noah Diekemper. Diekemper responded to this decision, stating that "We’re glad to see Governor Evers finally come around and ban an app that could give the Chinese government back-door access to Wisconsin's most sensitive information. See Here OP-ED | Blame Universities for High Student Default Rates WILL Writer and Research Analyst, Cori Petersen, and Research Director, Will Flanders, PhD, wrote an article in Real Clear Education concerning the rise of student loan debt. WILL published a policy report on the matter, stating that universities must be held accountable for this crisis. Petersen and Flanders wrote, "Many educational institutions these days are striving to be top-tier research universities. But why shouldn’t Wisconsin and other states also compete to have the top student ROI and lowest default rates? If states really do want to prepare students for success and lower the debt burden, they will put pressure on state university systems to shift their gaze from research to student outcomes."
