John — Tomorrow marks Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day — a day to honor and celebrate the legacy of Dr. King's lifelong commitment to justice, equality, and freedom for all.
Our mission to end gun violence calls for a world that is re-imagined: a world where oppressive power structures are abandoned and community is embraced. A world where all human needs are met and love of people is centered.
Dr. King transformed the nation by leading countless nonviolent actions, marches, lunch counter sit-ins, and the Freedom Rides. By speaking truth to power against systemic racism and economic injustice, he inspired a mass movement to demand America live up to its promise of freedom for all.
To honor Dr. King’s legacy, every one of us has a responsibility to fight for a future free of racial discrimination, poverty, war, and violence.

Today and every day, we commit ourselves to carry out Dr. King’s vision laid out in his iconic “I have a Dream” speech until it becomes a reality.
