I wanted to thank you for being a part of my campaign during the 2022 cycle. Whether you joined this movement back when this all began in 2018, or if you just got on board a few months ago, each of you has made a difference in our democracy.
You helped flip the House blue in 2018, helped protect our majority in 2020 which resulted in legislation that has helped millions of Americans, and you fended off a red wave in a year that pundits and election experts believed would be disastrous for Democrats.
We face a new challenge as we get ready for the 2024 election. Republicans have taken control of the House by a razor-thin margin, and extremists are wielding their power over Speaker Kevin McCarthy. The next two years will feature a lot of far-right priorities ranging from wasteful investigations to dangerous jockeying with the global economy for political power.
Thanks to the Democratic Senate and President Biden, we will weather this storm but it will be critical that Democrats regain control of the House in 2024. By the time we get there, the entire country will see why.
