Dear Friend,

During my time in the NFL, I learned so much about the importance of teamwork and setting aside your differences to come together. Football does have some downsides, but it also has the power to bring us together. To remind us of what really matters.

This week, I joined my colleague Congressman Burgess Owens (R-UT), a fellow former NFL player, on the House floor to recognize Buffalo Bills player Damar Hamlin’s recovery from a harrowing injury on the field a few weeks ago.

Damar’s perseverance has inspired millions and once again highlighted the generosity and fundamental goodness of the American people. We are all with him as he continues the road to recovery.

It’s an honor to serve North Texas, where I was born and raised.
