John, all eyes are on SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles tonight as our University of Georgia Bulldogs take on Texas Christian University in the college football national championship game. I’ve already made my prediction for the outcome: I’m picking the Dawgs to defend their title and win the ‘ship with a final score of 38-24. However, that’s not the only way I’m showing my support for UGA. I’ve helped lead the effort to bring more than $12M in federal funding to the university, supporting scientific research, engineering projects, and outreach programs. Georgia’s public universities are critical in addressing the key challenges facing our country and our communities. Sign on to show your support for UGA on and off the field, and help us meet our goal of 1,000 signatures by the 7:30 PM ET kickoff. This new federal funding will go towards researching innovative engineering solutions, enhancing poultry science, and supporting community outreach projects to increase economic opportunity and well-being. I’m particularly excited about the community outreach projects, the initiative I spearheaded the funding for. We’ll be leveraging university resources to create sustainable change – through resilient infrastructure, workforce planning, downtown revitalization, and more – and the effects will be felt by our children for generations to come. It’s an exciting time to be a Georgia Bulldog (and not just because we’re about to be back-to-back national champs).
