Hey John,
The climate justice movement has failed disabled folks in many ways— from ignoring how the climate crisis makes them that much more vulnerable to displacement, to the continued lack of accessibility of resources to ask for and receive care. Imani Barbarin is a disability rights and inclusion activist and speaker who uses her voice and social media platforms to create conversations engaging the disability community. And she will be joining us at PS23 as another headliner!

Many of the PS23 planners are neurodivergent and/or are disabled and have special considerations ourselves which is why accessibility (from language, to transportation logistics, having a built-in plan for attendees who are deaf or hard of hearing, use a wheelchair or electric scooter, are blind or have low vision, have limited dexterity, limited mobility, as well as those who are neurodiverse) is a necessity for this event and PSN’s overall ethos as an organization.
We’re honored to have Imani join us as a speaker who has provided the public a window into disabled life while forming a community online. We hope y’all join us to form a community in person alongside Imani and the other amazing speakers set to speak at PS23.
