Two years ago, we witnessed a violent attack on our Capitol -- a horrific moment in our history that needlessly led to the tragic loss of multiple heroic law enforcement officers, and my heart is with their loved ones on this anniversary.

In the last two years, I’ve been proud that millions of Americans have continued participating in our democracy, including turning out to elect so many strong Democrats in the midterm elections. But despite the best efforts of these patriotic voters, the House Select Committee on the January 6th attack, and others in Congress and across the country, I don’t believe we’ve done enough to come back from that dark day.

That’s why I’ll continue to fight for my Freedom to Vote Act [[link removed]] that I introduced last year and will keep pushing to protect our democracy in every way I can. I hope you’ll join me.

Today I’m wishing all of you peace and resilience in the year ahead, and I’m sending my prayers to everyone who was impacted by the January 6th attack two years ago.
