** Happy New Year’s Eve!
------------------------------------------------------------

The final countdown has begun...Dry January® is almost here!
I'm doing Dry January® 2023 ([link removed])

But we’re getting a bit ahead of ourselves. There are still a few hours of 2022 to go and don’t worry, Dry January® starts when you wake up, not when the clock strikes twelve and the fireworks (and possibly corks) start popping.

Mind you, you probably won’t want to leap into the new year with a hangover so here are some of our top tips for feeling ready for Dry January® when you wake up in 2023.

Pace yourself. Yes, you know this already, but setting yourself an hourly limit or start drinking a little later than planned will help to ease you into the new year.

Drink plenty of water between alcoholic drinks. Not only will it help to reduce the dreaded hangover symptoms, but it will help you to wake up looking fresh faced too. Why not pop a bottle of water next to your bed now, to tackle any middle-of-the-night thirst?

Think about all the lovely benefits coming your way if you sign up to Dry January®. What are you most looking forward to from your month off alcohol? We know from past years that by the end of the month you’re likely to notice several exciting changes. You can look forward to clearer skin, better mood, improved sleep and a great feeling of achievement.

** Warning
------------------------------------------------------------
If, after a period of drinking, you experience any of the following symptoms, you may be dependent on alcohol and you should NOT suddenly stop drinking completely: fits, shaking hands, sweating, seeing things that are not real, depression, anxiety, difficulty sleeping.
But you can still take control of your drinking. Speak to a GP who will be able to get help for you to reduce your drinking safely.
