Dear NRDC Activist,

For marine mammals like whales and dolphins, hearing is survival. Without it, they can't use their sonar to communicate, find food or mates, or navigate their ocean homes.

But the Trump administration has greenlit plans to open our coastal waters from Delaware to Florida to seismic airgun blasting to search for undersea oil and gas deposits. This dangerous and destructive seismic blasting will subject sea life like whales and dolphins to deafening blasts tens of thousands of times louder than an airhorn every 10 seconds. For weeks and months on end.

These animals — including endangered North American right whales — could endure terror, pain, and even death... all so Trump's fossil fuel allies can pillage our oceans for profit.

We can't let the Trump administration go through with this cruel seismic blasting plan. NRDC is taking Trump to court to fight disastrous policies like seismic blasting. Chip in by July 31 and we'll receive TWICE the resources we need to fight back tooth and nail, in and out of the courtroom.

The Trump administration's seismic blasting plans are as heartless as they are shortsighted. Seismic airgun blasting can kill and injure marine life and harm whales over vast distances.

And by doubling down on even more fossil fuel use, the Trump administration's policies will shackle us to dirty fossil fuels for decades to come, pushing us ever closer to climate catastrophe.

It's clear: if we want any hope of averting disaster and leaving future generations with a habitable planet, we must take bold action, and quickly. Shortly after Trump greenlit these seismic blasting plans, NRDC stood strong against this reckless action in and out of the courtroom. And together, with our allies, we won't back down in the face of these unlawful and dangerous policies.

I'm confident we can win this and stop Trump's relentless expansion of fossil fuel extraction. We've done it before, achieving victory after victory against this administration in court — but we need your support to keep up the fight.
