When Roe v. Wade was overturned, Governor Whitmer was one of the FIRST leaders on the frontlines fighting tooth and nail to protect abortion.
She even filed a lawsuit asking Michigan’s Supreme Court to declare that abortion rights are protected in the state constitution!
And thanks to her efforts turning out voters, Michigan passed a ballot initiative that officially enshrined abortion rights into their state constitution.
