Tina for Oregon

Hi John,

I hope your holiday preparations are going smoothly! No surprise, but I’m behind on my gift shopping.

We’re halfway through December, and it’s been an incredibly busy month as we’ve been preparing for the new year and the beginning of my term as Governor of Oregon.

I wanted to take a moment to share a little of what we’ve been up to.

Last week, I delivered the keynote address at the Oregon Business Council’s 20th annual Oregon Leadership Summit. In the speech, I outlined my top policy priorities: housing and homelessness, access to mental health and addiction treatment, and successful schools.

I also provided the foundational goals for my administration — building trust across Oregon, increasing accountability and oversight in state government, and encouraging new and more robust intergovernmental and private-sector partnerships.

I know that we can accomplish big things. But it can only happen if we work together. That’s why I was excited to announce the “One Oregon” Listening Tour, where I’ll visit every Oregon county in my first year in office. This tour will focus on building partnerships across the state, a critical first step in getting results that benefit all Oregonians.

I’m also building out my team. To help me achieve the most for Oregonians, I’ve hired Andrea Cooper as my incoming Chief of Staff. She’s extremely strategic, collaborative, and qualified, with fifteen years of experience working in Oregon government and public service. Not to mention she’s a lifelong Portland Trail Blazers fan, which is always a plus.

We also launched a transition website – where you can track what’s happening, invite me to future events, and let us know if you’re interested in joining our team.

This is certainly only the beginning. We’re putting in the work to ensure that on Day One, my entire administration and I will be able to continue to create progress in Oregon.

As Governor, I’ll fight for you and deliver on the promises I made during the campaign. That means delivering results for ALL of Oregon. I know that when all Oregonians do better, we are all safer, healthier, and more prosperous.

I’ll keep you updated on my progress. I can’t wait to get to work to solve problems with you.

Thank you and Happy Holidays!
