Team, I’d like to wish you and your family a very happy holiday season.

While things slow down a bit, I’m taking time to think about all the -- extremely important -- work we did together this year to defend our democracy.

Working to shore up democracy here at home was not something I thought I’d be doing in 2022, and I’m guessing you feel the same way. But I’m so glad we launched this mission -- because our efforts really mattered. Through The American SOS Project and Democratic Majority Action, we were able to fend off seditious actors from getting into positions of power over our elections. That is no small feat! We also helped create the conditions for continued Democratic control of the Senate -- keeping Mitch McConnell in the minority for another Congress(another vitally important effort).

Thank you for being a part of that project -- for our country, and for the world.

Where that work goes from here is something I’m thinking a lot about, and I’ll have more to say on that front soon. But with the holidays approaching, I thought I’d take a minute today to update you on the most important mission in my life right now, my family:

Erik and the kids and I are finishing up a fun and busy year. My two older boys (Teddy and George) are into soccer, football, and basketball. Eleanor, our youngest, loves dancing and crafting. They are all really enjoying school, which I’m sure every parent reading this knows is quite a blessing. Our goofy two-year-old dog named Oscar has given us many laughs and snuggles, along with some headaches (like when he cornered a skunk one night in late summer and got sprayed in the head and neck -- not once, not twice, but five times!). As the kids get bigger and bigger, they manage to test my patience in almost every conceivable way, but we are also having a blast -- and spending more time with them brings me so much joy.
