I need to cut to the chase,
John:

Scientists are warning that unless we take drastic action, there is no
credible pathway to keeping global heating to 1.5 degrees Celsius.^1 That
means rising sea levels, flooded cities, "unheard-of" storms increasing in
frequency, and ecosystem collapse. It's a world we cannot — and must not —
accept.

That is why here at 350.org, we are ready to act. Our climate movement is
planning HUGE climate campaigns like community-owned renewable projects.
We are gearing up to stop the most disastrous pipeline projects around the
globe. And we WILL end the era of fossil fuels. But none of this work —
and I really mean none of it — will be possible without
you, John.

We are setting the single-biggest fundraising goal we have ever set here
at 350.org, because the climate crisis is too urgent for us to fall short.
So I'm hoping I can count on you today,
John:

$3.50
contribution today so we can hit our End of Year fundraising goal of
$950,000 before midnight on December 31?

Here's how I see it:

Every single one of our opponents — from the fossil fuel industry to the
major financial institutions bankrolling their projects — is betting our
climate movement is going to give up hope on our future.

They want us to see headlines about climate inaction at COP27, or
front-page stories about climate disasters only getting worse, and accept
the status quo of a planet spiraling toward collapse.

They want us to give up. But we refuse to give Big Oil what they want.

If we stay focused, work hard, and stick together, we WILL shut down their
entire industry, and stop them from ruining our planet.

It is up to us to create a climate blueprint for a just future where we
can build an equitable transition to 100 percent renewable energy. And
that's exactly what we are setting out to do in 2023. Activists are
working around the clock to get our climate movement ready for the biggest
push we have ever made: Major climate campaigns and community-owned
renewable projects around the globe.

But every single campaign and project we are setting out to launch in 2023
requires a HUGE amount of preparation, and an even bigger amount of
resources, to implement.

So that is why I am asking you today to chip in what you can and help us
send an unmistakable message to the fossil fuel industry that our movement
is not giving up hope:

[ [link removed] ]Please make a
$3.50
contribution — or a contribution of any amount that works for you and your
family — so we can defeat the fossil fuel industry in 2023 and turn things
around for our climate.

The truth is that none of this work would be possible without you. So
thank you for pitching in today. It means more than you know.

In solidarity,

May Boeve
