January 10, 2019 Dear John, We have officially kicked off the new year and we are already witnessing the disastrous impacts of New York Democrats’ radical agenda. On January 1st, Cuomo and the Democrats’ get-out-of-jail free card took effect with the elimination of cash bail. In less than two weeks, we have seen horrific cases of career criminals who are benefiting from these reckless catch-and-release policies that are putting dangerous criminals back on our streets. This is an outrage. I went to our state capitol on Monday to demand Cuomo and the Democrat legislative leaders repeal this reckless law immediately. Nor was any mention of the more than one million New Yorkers who have fled our state under his watch. His speech should have been entitled: "The Sorry State of our State." Our state is worth it. Our families are worth it. We are fighting 24/7 against the radical agenda under one-party Democrat rule. 2020 is our year to break up their power monopoly and return common sense to New York State government. GOP Chair Nick Langworthy Blasts Cuomo’s State of the State Speech This week, Assembly Republicans also elected Will Barclay to serve as their new leader. Assemblyman Barclay has been a powerful and effective voice for taxpayers and Upstate New York, and I know he will bring that same fighting spirit to all of New York as Assembly Republican Leader. Finally, I want to close by commending our President for his incredible leadership on Iran. He has showed that once again, America is a nation that pursues peace through strength.
