Abortion isn’t technically on the ballot in SD-07 this January, but it might as well be.
Jen Kiggans’ seat in the Virginia Senate is an open seat and a special election will be held on January 10th to replace her. Right now, Democrats hold a slim majority in the State Senate, but we’re only one seat away from the GOP passing a statewide abortion ban.
Flipping this seat would add another layer of protection for abortion rights in Virginia. That’s why Democrats in Virginia’s 7th Senate district have nominated Aaron Rouse, a Virginia Beach City Council member who is proudly pro-choice and has been endorsed by multiple pro-choice leaders and organizations.
