On January 1, 2023, join Mayor Bowser and thousands of DC residents at Freedom Plaza at 11:00 a.m. for the return of the in-person FITDC Fresh Start 5K.?This New Year?s Day tradition is free and open to people of all ages, whether you?re running, walking, or cheering on friends and family.?

Residents who do not preregister online can register at Freedom Plaza on January 1 starting at 10:00 a.m. The 5K will begin promptly at 11:00 a.m.

Opportunities for 14- to 21-Year-Olds at the District's Achievement Centers
Achievement Centers

Families and young adults are encouraged to check out opportunities for career development and after school programming at the District?s Achievement Centers. The Achievement Centers, which are managed by the Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services,?offer a range of programming led by expert staff who help young people develop their strengths and confidence. The programming is free of charge and open to all District youth ages 14 to 21.

Right now, families can register teens for after school programming and young adults 18- to 21-year-olds can register for January 2023 vocational programming focused on tattoo artistry and microblading.

Today, Mayor Bowser released the FY23 Small Business Enterprise (SBE) Opportunity Guide, also known as the Green Book.?The Green Book assists SBEs in navigating the local government procurement process by providing an agency-by-agency overview of SBE spending availability.?

For the third year in a row, SBEs can search for opportunities in real-time using the interactive dashboard on the Green Book website ? GreenBookDC.com [ [link removed] ]. The site brings spending data from the Green Book to life with dynamic data that allows businesses to sort opportunities quickly by district agency and product.?
