It’s official, the Governor’s Council has certified Kristin Kassner as the winner of the 2nd Essex State Representative race; the results are Kassner: 11,763 to Mirra: 11,762.
This Fall, I worked closely with the Kassner recount committee and can exclaim that the committee appreciates all of those who were able to help. Unfortunately, the fight isn't over yet. In this email below, we've included the latest news provided to us by Kristin Kassner. Please take a moment to read her message, and consider a contribution directly to the Kassner recount efforts to protect this one vote margin.
If you ever need a reminder that your vote matters, look no further — one vote made the difference, and every donation helps cover costs of the recount.
A message fromm Kristin Kassner:
"I want to first thank everyone that has been a part of this campaign and part of the recount experience. I truly cannot express enough appreciation for the outpouring of support and assistance through this election and the recount process. When we started this campaign a year ago, we never expected to have our holiday decorations up awaiting the results.
But here we are—
Over 24,000 ballots counted,
The Governor’s Council has certified the result Kassner: 11,763 to Mirra: 11,762.
We had an excellent volunteer team as well as experienced election attorneys with us this week. In a recount, candidates are responsible for the cost of the attorney’s fees for their counsel. The recounts overlapped, requiring multiple attorneys to represent the Kassner Campaign at a cost of $12,000 for the week. We have begun raising funds but are only halfway to reaching the goal.
Thank you for your continued investment in our democracy. Recount donations have no limit, even if you have previously contributed. Furthermore, they can be individual or corporate. Please consider a donation. Every vote counts and every dollar helps us cover our costs of this very important process. Click here to donate today.
Thank you for your ongoing support!
Can you help Kristin reach her goal of $12,000 for the Recount Fund before we run out of time?
