Meet our one of our Organizer Apprentices...

Dear John,
?

Meet Lill Prosperino.?

?

Lill is one of the 6 2022 WV Can't Wait Organizer Apprentices, and the first Director of? Mountain State Harm Reduction (MSHR), West Virginia's first ever statewide harm reduction coalition.?

?

You can join their email list and learn more about harm reduction by signing up here: https://forms.gle/h8WdcdbzYSmVyuVC6.?

?

Remember: in the middle of the nation's most concerning HIV outbreak and a still-rising overdose death rate, the state of West Virginia and the city council of Charleston both voted to criminalize CDC-recommended harm reduction programs.?MSHR got built by the people whose work was criminalized, the people who are saving lives everyday -- harm reductionists, health workers, and people who use drugs. You can join them by signing up at this link.

?

In 2022, with your help, WV Can't Wait raised and awarded $180,000 to 6 organizer apprentices who were building power in their communities. We also offered them free organizer training, mentorship, fiscal sponsorship, and field & communications support. People like Lill... people like Shanequa Smith of Restorative Actions, who helped organize the state's first Black Policy Day at the Capitol and organized youth year round... people like Susie Wheeler, who is building New Roots Farm, a regional farm collective out of Fayette County.?

?

We would love to continue to support these apprentices, our Hometown Heroes, and more of our allies statewide. You can make your end-of-year donation at https://secure.actblue.com/donate/wv-can-t-wait-political-action-committee-1.?

?

Our fight continues,

?

Stephen & Katey

?

PS You can read more about all our organizer apprentices here, or let us know if you want to talk about your own organizing.?
