** Black Girls Thrive in Community
------------------------------------------------------------

“A WORLD WHERE BLACK GIRLS THRIVE IS A WORLD WHERE THE COMMUNITY LOVES, HONORS, AND SUPPORTS THEM.”

Our Annual Report ([link removed]) is officially out! This year, we called on the support of our community to help us purchase and remodel our center in Chesterfield through our One Million Reasons to Build campaign. We have been blown away by the support of our community! We put our needs and intentions out into the world and the community stepped in to help in so many ways. But it wasn’t just the building campaign. For every program, event, and GFAC endeavor, there was a community partner who really stepped up to help us make a bigger impact on our girls.

** Celebrating Milestones
------------------------------------------------------------

“My time in the Girl Ambassador Program was such a beneficial learning experience. I learned a number of valuable skills and was able to apply them in internships and in my everyday life. In my eyes this program put me ahead of the curve. Each year I was placed in a new internship experience where I’ve had the opportunity to work in Fashion/Beauty, Social Media and Communications, Wellness, App Development, and Film. GAP has opened my mind to endless career opportunities. Lastly, GAP has given me a professional network that I can continue to connect with throughout my career.” - Iyanna Hardin

“During my time in the program, I have learned Microsoft skills, coding skills, and networking skills. I have grown while in Girls For A Change and feel like it prepared me more for the business world. I can apply these while in college because I will be networking with other people while getting my name out there.” – Jessica Saunders

** End of Year Giving
------------------------------------------------------------

As we close out 2022, consider making your tax deductible contribution to GFAC to help us enter into 2023 with confidence. If you are employed by a large corporation, your donation may be eligible for matching funds! Check with your employer to see if they'll match your end-of-year giving. All donations are also eligible for Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) credits - up to 65%! Every little bit helps.

Thursday, December 15 is the 1-Year Anniversary for our #1MReasonstoBuild ([link removed]) campaign AND Angela Patton’s Birthday! We are so thankful for everyone who has supported us so far. We still have great lengths to go until our space is done, but tonight we invite you to join us for a celebration at Starr Hill RVA in Scott’s Addition. We will have door prizes, games, a silent Diva Bag Auction, and Intergalactic Tacos food truck will be on-site with their out-of-this-world cuisine. PLUS, $1 of every pint of The Love Wheat beer will be donated to GFAC!
