The New Year is almost here! That means we're almost to my least favorite time in the U.S. — the swearing in of new elected officials and switching to new legislative districts. This process takes a long time and is dependent on many factors outside our control, so please bear with me as you use Letter Campaigns, Call Campaigns, and district targeting in early 2023. (This applies only to U.S. targets and districts, not Canadian).
Some background: We offer built-in targets for Letter Campaigns so you can contact the White House, Congress, governors, and state legislators, all with a few clicks. Every year when new officials are sworn in, we have to update our system so that your activists write or call the correct new person.
This year, there's the added complication of new legislative districts. If you target emails and reports by legislative district, or use Letter/Call Campaign clips, the districts will be incorrect in early 2023. Letter and Call Campaigns will have the correct districts, but we may not have the correct elected officials. Yes, I am fully aware that this is confusing.
