John,

One year ago today, our Commonwealth experienced the most severe tornado event in its history. The destruction to our communities in the aftermath of this disaster was devastating, and one year later, we are still working to rebuild.

Today, my thoughts are with every Kentuckian who was impacted by this storm, especially the hundreds who were injured and the loved ones of the 81 Kentuckians we lost.

Kentuckians are strong, and while this was a heartbreaking tragedy, it was incredible to see how our communities came together to provide support to affected families over the last year. We've made great progress in rebuilding, but we still have a ways to go.

I am taking time to visit the communities in Western Kentucky that were hit hardest today. As your governor, I'm committed to helping every community recover and ensuring these families have the support they need as they continue to rebuild.
