We did it!

Reverend Raphael Warnock won his senate runoff and reelection last night
in Georgia! This win secures a 51st Democratic senator, and will improve
our chances of expanding Medicare for All, lowering the rising costs of
living, strengthening Social Security, preserving reproductive freedoms,
and protecting our democracy.

Together our movement raised a total of $67,174.70 to directly support
Raphael Warnock’s campaign. We also mobilized over 300
volunteers for virtual events with Georgia Votes, and for youth voter
outreach with Sunrise Movement.

Senator Warnock was up against a multi-millionaire, with a net worth
estimated to be nearly $65 million^1, who didn’t even reside in the state.
Republicans were confident they could buy this election, but we proved
them wrong.

But we won’t stop here. Alexandria experienced firsthand how difficult it
is for working-class, grassroots candidates to break into politics, and
that’s why she launched Courage to Change: a leadership PAC that supports
candidates who refuse to bow to establishment pressure, who advocate
ferociously for working-class families, and who have lived the same
struggles as the people they seek to represent.

Through Alexandria’s and our movement's efforts, this midterm cycle we
helped elect progressive champions: Summer Lee in Pennsylvania, Greg Casar
in Texas, helped re-elect Katie Porter in California, and now Raphael
Warnock in Georgia!
