John,
The votes are in—we're sending Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock back to the Senate!
This is a huge win for reproductive freedom. Having 51 seats in the U.S. Senate gives Democrats a one-seat advantage that will improve our chances of confirming pro-choice judges and defeating anti-choice legislation.
There is so much to be proud of this election cycle—especially in this Senate runoff. Our volunteers' ground game was phenomenal. From phonebanking and textbanking to youth organizing and canvassing, their organizing power helped turn out voters in record numbers. We made a real difference in winning a number of tight races across the country.
We are so grateful to our members and volunteers for their hard work across the country to elect reproductive freedom candidates up and down the ballot. Here are a few key stats that prove the power of our reproductive freedom movement:
🏠 Over 332,000 doors knocked
☎️ Over 850,000 calls made
📱 Over 1 million texts sent
👟 Over 4,800 volunteer shifts
And when abortion was literally on the ballot—in states including Kansas, Michigan, Kentucky, Vermont, and California—voters resoundingly voted in support of preserving and expanding abortion access.
While election season is now over, the fight for reproductive freedom continues. We'll need to hold the line against attacks in state legislative sessions in the new year. Contribute today to support NARAL's efforts to restore abortion rights and expand access.
