John,
In just a few short years, Justice Democrats has ensured AOC, Jamaal Bowman, Cori Bush, and Summer Lee won historic races, helped re-elect the Squad, and transformed progressive politics. Others write off our campaigns as impossible, but we know that’s not true — it’s just that the odds are stacked against us. The number one reason why: money.
JD has grown exponentially to accommodate for the scale of work it takes to win races against the establishment, because 95% of the time, the candidate with the most money wins. It’s un-democratic, but true.
We don’t raise money for the sake of it, or ask for your donation lightly. It’s because we have real operations to sustain, and each one is critical to the success of our candidates, and our movement in the long-term. I want to share with you some examples of what your donation will fund, but first I have a request to make…
We don’t win our races by accident — we create our path to victory carefully for every candidate, meaning every program we budget for is absolutely essential.
We promise to always use your donations strategically and efficiently, but we do need your support in order to fund these critical operations. Right now we are falling far behind the numbers we need to keep all of our programs running.
Here’s just a sample of what your donations help fund:
As you can see, we don’t take this work lightly — we know what we’re up against, and we do everything in our power to set our candidates up for success. There’s no other organization that does what we do. But we cannot do it without you.
Because of Justice Democrats, working class candidates from diverse communities across America have a fighting shot to reclaim power in Congress. But that’s all on the line if we can’t revive our fundraising ASAP.
In solidarity,
Julia Eddy, Finance Director
Justice Democrats
