First: The House of Representatives passed H.R. 1808 — the Assault Weapons Ban of 2022 — over the summer. Since then, it’s been sitting in the Senate without any hearings or considerations for a vote.

Then: In the wake of massacres in Colorado Springs and Chesapeake, Virginia, Biden renewed his call on Congress to pass legislation banning assault weapons before the remaining session ends in January.

Now: Congress is back in session, and time is running out. There are a few senators holding back their support because they’re waiting to see if their constituents (that’s you!) want to ban assault weapons. We need you to raise the heat and demand a vote on the Senate floor immediately.

Congress must act to save lives. Will you send a message to your U.S. Senator and urge them to support the Assault Weapons Ban NOW?

Young people did their part by voting in droves for gun safety leaders in the midterm election this November. Now, our leaders must deliver for us by taking weapons of war off our streets and protecting our communities.
