But, at the moment, we don’t have 60 votes in the Senate to get it done…

John, I hope you had a good Thanksgiving break and are enjoying the beginning of the holiday season with loved ones and friends.

I’ve headed back to DC for the last few weeks of Congress before this session wraps up. I’m heading back with renewed commitment to advocate for passage of an assault weapons ban after President Biden urged the Senate to act before the end-of-the-year in his Thanksgiving address.

I wholeheartedly agree with President Biden. We cannot let our Republican colleagues continue to stonewall us at the behest of the NRA and gun manufacturers' lobbying. From Colorado Springs to two separate incidents in Virginia, we all watched the news this month in horror and then saw Republicans say “now is not the time to act.”

Enough. Now IS the time to act. Yesterday was the time to act. 2004 - when the assault weapons ban expired - was the time to act.

Together, we are building a grassroots movement for the long haul to pass meaningful gun safety reform at the federal level and in states all around the country. We are taking the fight to the NRA, gun manufacturers, and we are still spreading the story of my son Jordan far and wide, now a decade after he was shot and killed.

I want you to join us in this fight, John. Whether you’re a first time donor or a regular supporter, your grassroots contributions are what power our gun safety reform movement and the political will we are building - slowly but surely - in Congress. Please join us today with a donation of any amount before our November fundraising deadline →
