John, Young people are leading the charge to end the epidemic of gun violence once and for all. As the generation most familiar with lockdown drills and school shootings, we are tired of living in fear of the next shooting. Our recent poll shows that 57 percent of young voters are more likely to support a candidate who wants to pass background checks, raise the age to buy a gun to 21, AND pass an assault weapons ban. That’s exactly what we are fighting for each and every day, and we will not stop until we see the change we demand. Grassroots supporters like you are the backbone of our youth-led movement. Today is one of the most critical fundraising days for nonprofit organizations like ours. So I’m coming to you directly:

The season of giving is upon us. I'm thinking of all the parents and kids I met this year after Uvalde, Buffalo, and Highland Park, who will be having their first holidays without their loved ones. I am thinking of the survivors and victims of Colorado Springs and Virginia mourning the loss of their community, friends and neighbors from gun violence. We know these deadly attacks are preventable, and commonsense solutions are within reach. President Joe Biden vowed to pass an Assault Weapons Ban in the upcoming lame-duck session, and we will hold him and every lawmaker to that promise. Young people are fed up. And because we showed up in record numbers during the midterm elections, our voices are getting louder to the point where politicians are finally listening — you did that!
