Team, happy Giving Tuesday!

With just a few short hours to go before our midnight deadline we really need your help. Please consider making a 2X Matched donation now to help us hit our $10,000 goal! [[link removed]]

Today, we wanted to give you a look behind the curtain so that you may understand just like us, what exactly is at stake in the year ahead: Our entire Campaigns Team is clued into any whisper — big or small — of extremist officials trying to suppress the power of your vote. And when we hear these whispers, we get ready to fight back.

That’s why a portion of all funds raised today will go directly to our Ballot Measure Rescue Campaign’s efforts to protect the power of direct democracy. Rush a donation now and have your gift towards our BMRC doubled. >> [[link removed]]

As 2022 comes to a close and the new year begins, states across the country will pick back up with their next legislative sessions. And one thing is certain: As we continue to make progress with ballot measures across the country, extremist officials will come after the power of your vote.

There is a direct link between voters choosing the progressive policies they need and then extremist state legislatures punishing voters by weakening the power of ballot measures or making them harder to pass altogether.

→ In Mississippi, a marijuana ballot measure was passed by voters, then the state supreme court upended their ballot measure process entirely.

→ In South Dakota, we put Medicaid expansion on the November ballot, so extremist officials introduced a measure that could have raised the approval threshold to a 60% supermajority.

→ Now, after wins to protect abortion in Michigan and Vermont, extremists in Ohio are introducing the very same 60% approval measure to try and block progress like protecting abortion access.

What we do here and now matters, friend. So we're asking: This Giving Tuesday, will you pledge to defend our democracy with a donation to our Ballot Measure Rescue Campaign? All donations now through midnight will be 2X Matched — DOUBLE your impact now. >> [[link removed]]
