Mike Bloomberg: From the Bullpen

John,

This year's U.N. Climate Conference, COP27, marked a major step forward in the global fight against climate change.

After extensive negotiations, wealthy countries that grew rich through decades of carbon-intensive growth have, for the first time, committed to compensate developing nations as they advance climate adaptation and clean energy strategies.

That agreement was historic. And it wasn't the only advance made at COP27, which saw "two important victories," according to a new opinion piece from Mike.

While the second victory made fewer headlines, it too is critical to meeting the urgent needs of the climate fight. Check out Mike's message, "Climate Progress Is Happening, Just Not Fast Enough" to find out how global leaders can move forward faster following COP27.

"The second victory at COP27 was not a formal agreement among nations, but rather a growing acceptance by them of a crucial idea," writes Mike. That idea is essential if we hope to meet our climate goals, ensure accountability on cutting emissions, and ultimately avoid climate catastrophe.
