Dear Friend,

Our service members stationed abroad sacrifice so much, including being away from their families and friends on holidays. That’s why I was honored to celebrate Thanksgiving at Camp Arifjan in Kuwait with our service members and hear directly about their current service. Additionally, I was honored to thank them on behalf of North Texans for their service.

I joined a Congressional Delegation led by Veterans’ Affairs Committee Chairman Mark Takano, and my colleagues Congresswomen Elissa Slotkin (MI-08) and Katie Porter (CA-45). Together we learned more about how we can ensure our service members have everything they need in civilian life once their service has ended.

Additionally, our Delegation traveled the region and met with foreign dignitaries, military leadership and other service members, including a visit to the Area Support Group in Jordan to talk to active duty troops working to support the region’s security at the Joint Training Center. 

I know I join all my fellow North Texans in saying how thankful I am to these folks for all they’ve done for our nation. I hope you and your family had a happy and restful Thanksgiving.
