Dear Comrade,
Neighbors and area residents have created a petition asking the city to slow down on the sale of White Pond, postponing any development vote until at least April 2023. Please consider signing the petition here, and include your ward number in your comment if you’re an Akron resident. There will be a dedicated community meeting to discuss White Pond with city officials this Tuesday (11/29) at 6 p.m. in Zwisler Hall at St. Sebastian Parish (476 Mull Ave.). All are welcome to attend, not just Ward 4 residents. And remember, you can also speak at City Council on Monday (11/28). Register here (by 4 p.m. Monday) if you plan to speak over Zoom.
On Wednesday (11/30) at 6 p.m., we’ll have our Akron DSA November general meeting. You can attend in person or on Zoom.
If you haven’t done so already, please click here take our short planning survey for our Abolition Priority Campaign, and please share with any friends or family in the area.
Reminder: you can sign up here for our Winter Labor Solidarity blast on Dec. 17, from 2:30-6:30 p.m. downtown near Lock 3. We’ll be writing cards to comrades and having loads of winter fun! Options include visiting Archie the Snowman, renting ice skates, ice bikes and/or ice bumper cars, putt-putt golf, and shuffleboard.
In Solidarity,
Akron DSA
