John –

Georgia is ground zero in the new fractures in the Republican Party. Now that Republicans have watched Trump lose embarrassingly as MAGA candidates across the country were defeated at the ballot box, they don’t want Trump anywhere near Georgia during the runoff.

Whether or not Trump visits Georgia, we need your help to re-elect Sen. Raphael Warnock >>

But here’s the thing, John: Trump and MAGA extremism are already on the ballot — under the name “Herschel Walker.”

Republicans don’t get to have it both ways. They don’t get to dismiss Trump while supporting Trump’s hand-picked candidate who embodies everything about the MAGA movement. The Republicans who are supporting Walker but distancing themselves from Trump are acting out of convenience, not on principle.

How do we know? Let’s take a look at why Republicans abandoned Trump en masse this month.

Was it because Trump incited an insurrection against the U.S. government? No.

Was it because Trump appears to have stolen highly classified documents? Nah, they’re defending him for that.

Was it because Trump ran the most corrupt administration in modern American history? Nope.

The actual reason many Republicans have stopped supporting Trump is because Trump didn’t help them win enough. Unbridled self-interest is driving the Republican Party (though we already knew that). They’re paper-thin weather vanes, turning at a moment’s notice to get whatever minor advantage the next stiff breeze might impart to them.

The few Republicans who opposed Trump on principle were kicked out of the GOP. Those who now oppose Trump for the sole reason that he didn’t own enough libs — they make up the core of the Republican Party.

Republicans won’t stop Trumpism. They’ll pick it right back up again if it suits them. If the MAGA movement is to be defeated this year, it will happen here in the Georgia runoff election. We have to show that not only is Trump toxic, but everything that Trump created is toxic as well. And we have to do it at the ballot box.

Will you make a contribution to help Hank get out the vote and send a message in no uncertain terms that the era of Trump and the extremism he stoked MUST end now?
