Fellow Conservative,

It's been over 400 years since the Mayflower set sail. Determined to establish a new way of life, where they could worship God according to their own consciences, the Pilgrims landed on Plymouth Rock.

They were on the "pursuit of happiness" before Jefferson ever coined that phrase. Despite the brutal winters and the unfamiliar terrain, the pilgrims survived with the help of the Wampanoag Indians.

As legend has it, a grand feast was ordained to give thanks to God with both settlers and indigenous invited. Throughout the years, Presidents from Washington and Lincoln ordained the last Thursday of November to be a national day of Thanksgiving to Almighty God.

Of course, nowadays woke extremists want to "dismantle" the Thanksgiving narrative as "racist." Our secular culture has tried to erase God from it. This nonsense should of course be opposed, but let's not let these loud voices deter us. The great American tradition of Thanksgiving lives on so long as we as Americans honor it.

So I hope you spend your day filled with joy and gratitude, surrounded by the ones you love. Make sure to carve out some time to say some prayers to the Eternal Father thanking Him for your many blessings...and for helping guide the Mayflower those 400-odd years ago.
