Hi there —

Just over a year ago, North Carolina Republicans passed a heavily gerrymandered Congressional map through the state legislature — one of their many attempts to silence the voices of thousands of voters, particularly marginalized communities, in this election.

Fortunately, our state’s Supreme Court didn’t miss a beat. They saw this attack on our fundamental right to vote for what it was and overturned Republicans’ gerrymandered map, ruling it unconstitutional. However, our work isn’t finished yet.

Next month, the U.S. Supreme Court will hear Moore v. Harper, Republicans’ appeal of our state court’s ruling, putting our free and fair elections in serious danger.

We can’t allow the Supreme Court’s right-wing majority to decide this case before passing legislation to end partisan gerrymandering and protect our right to vote. Sign on to my petition to call on Congress to take immediate action and end partisan gerrymandering >>

If the Court’s right-wing majority decides to overrule the Supreme Court of North Carolina, it would set a dangerous precedent not only in our state, but across the country.

State legislatures would have unchecked authority to draw legislative maps to their liking and set rules for federal elections without any checks on their power. In other words, our free and fair elections would be in grave danger.

Partisan gerrymandering has no place in our democracy. In the land of the free, the only individuals with the power to pick our representatives should be the American people.

Congress has the power to stop this, and I’m personally asking for your support to put the pressure on. Please add your name next to mine to demand Congress get ahead of this ruling and pass legislation to end partisan gerrymandering >>

Thanks for signing on.
