Hello,

In the early hours of Sunday morning a shooter opened fire inside of Club Q, an LGBTQ+ nightclub in Colorado Springs, killing at least five people and injuring 25 more. This attack fell on Transgender Day of Remembrance adding to the heightened trauma the LGBTQ+ community experiences from hate crimes.

Our hearts go out to the victims of the Club Q shooting and their families and loved ones affected by this tragedy.

Now is the time to rise up and take action against these attacks.

Tragedies like this are a direct result of violent anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric spread by public figures who use their platforms to spread hate.

We all must fight back against efforts to silence and remove LGBTQ+ people from public life. We need protections for all people, including protections to prevent gun violence. We must demand that our leaders govern in ways that honor our communities, respect our lives, and support our safety and rights.

If you are able, please consider donating to the Colorado Healing Fund, or any other vetted organization that supports victims of mass violence and hate crimes.
