Dear Friend,
Once again, we woke up to a tragic story of violence. Early Sunday morning, in Colorado Springs, another killer attacked innocent people in an LGBTQ night club, leaving victims murdered, many more wounded, and a community in pain.
In Colorado, we have seen too many of these attacks. We will assist in every way we can to support the victims and bring the killer to justice. We also will continue to advance gun safety measures and work to keep weapons out of the hands of dangerous people by supporting the greater use of Colorado’s “red flag” law.
I promise you. I will not back down in this fight to keep us all safe, and will do so with particular heightened vigilance against hate that targets people who simply are living their lives. We owe that to each other.
My official statement on the shooting is here [[link removed]] . Together, and particularly at this time, we must all do what we can to enable everyone in the LGBTQ community to live safely and free of hate. Thank you for helping us turn this tide.
Phil
