John, the good news is many Members of Congress are already showing powerful leadership by making their positions unequivocally clear. Check out what members of The Squad have said already: "Right now is the moment to decide if you are pro-peace or not. The cheerleaders of war, removed from its true cost, will gladly convince you that up is down - just as they did in Iraq in ‘03. But war does not establish peace. War does not create security. War endangers us all." -Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez "They’re going to accuse anyone who cautions against war of "siding with our enemies" or "supporting terrorists." This is the exact rhetoric that got us into the War in Iraq. Don’t fall for it." -Ilhan Omar "We cannot stay silent as this lawless President recklessly moves us closer to yet another unnecessary war that puts innocent lives at risk at home & across the globe. Congress alone has the authority to declare war, & we must reclaim our responsibility & say no to war with Iran." -Rashida Tlaib "The occupant’s foreign policy is erratic, impulsive, and dangerous. Further escalation puts the lives of American personnel, our allies, and countless civilians at even greater risk. Join me in saying no more endless war." -Ayanna Pressley The bad news is the relentless attacks from Trump supporters and right-wing warmongering pundits on TV, who will do anything to deflect blame from the President in support of a rush to war, could drown out our voices and swing other Members of Congress to their side. Congress has a moral and legal obligation to reassert its power to stop this war and protect innocent people in America, Iran and around the world from the horrific consequences of this reckless escalation of violence in the Middle East. Let’s make sure Congress knows exactly where we stand and that we’ll be watching. When leaders stand up for peace and against a war with Iran, we stand with you. The future depends on us. Thank you for taking action at this critical time in history. -Charles Charles Chamberlain, Chair
