We're so proud of all of our training alumni that ran for office this year! Our year-round training programs help prepare women to run strong, modern campaigns for every level of office.

In 2021, we launched our initiative to recruit and train candidates to run specifically for local office, designing programming and support just for local candidates. We are thrilled that in just the second year of this program, we saw 28 training alumni run for local office!

17 of our training alumni from the last year also ran for the state legislature to be the last line of defense for abortion access in NC, including Senator-Elect Mary Wills Bode and Representatives-Elect Diamond Staton-Williams and Laura Budd. Over the years, Lillian's List has trained nearly 1,000 progressive leaders, including 97% of our winning legislative candidates this cycle!

We trained women to run not only for the state legislature, but for local office as we work to build a strong pipeline of progressive women in office at every level. Of our 28 training alumni running at the local level, 12 won their elections, including Stormie Forte and Jane Harrison for the Raleigh City Council, which will now have a 5-2 majority of women!

It is because of your support that we have been able to expand our training programs and offer one-on-one consulting to both legislative and local candidates. Our training is essential to recruitment and preparation of qualified candidates. 2024 will be another critical election year, but Lillian's List is already preparing our training programs for 2023.
