Sandy Smith has officially filed her paperwork to run against us, but we’re ready to defend this seat, and here’s why: Don won by more than 10,000 votes; the voters of eastern North Carolina chose democracy and a champion with a proven record to fight for the East. Don's ready to work hard in Congress and deliver to the communities he will serve. Our grassroots campaign reached out to voters across NC-01, and our victory came from this hard work. We can't thank you enough for your support. That's why it's hard for me to ask you for one more favor. We have several unpaid invoices and remaining expenditures.
