First Day Hikes 2023
Put parks on your New Year's resolution list, and start off strong with a First Day Hike!

Ring in the new year with Washington State Parks during our annual First Day Hikes event on Jan. 1, 2023.

First Day Hikes offers an opportunity for everyone to get outside and enjoy our beautiful state parks. Participate in ranger and staff-led hikes, bike rides, snowshoe excursions and more that will be offered at 40+ parks on New Year's Day. Most First Day Hikes require advanced registration, and group sizes may be limited. Select hikes will also have snowshoes available for visitors to use. Visit our website [ [link removed] ] to view all activities and registration information.

New Year?s Day also marks the first state-managed land free day of 2023. Visitors will not need a Discover Pass to park on state recreation lands.?However, you may need to purchase a?Sno-Park permit [ [link removed] ]?depending on which hike you choose.
